Micro Alumni Meet, Bangalore - KGEC MCA batches

Those college days which everybody hoped to have been never ending, ended one day. Then guys went out to search naukri and chokri, the two basic requirements. Some were blessed with
one, some with the other, some with neither and some with both. But in this search some guys landed up in Bangalore. Some came here some went back to Kolkata, but for all those
who had stayed back hats off to them who were able to make up for the micro alumni meet of KGEC MCA batch at Waan Lee restaurant on 7th of November, 08'.

A wonderful get together which I feel would have brought the feel of Anurag or Dhakeshari, Kalyani in everybody's emotions. Thanks to all of our friends who turned up that day in that wonderful restaurant. It was a great fun with gossip mongers like me continuously pulling others' legs, which resulted in my own legs being pulled. Ha Ha Ha...

Those of us staying far far away from Kolkata, might die to go to Kolkata as our friends succeeded in doing, but such get together might heal a lot those damaged emotions of ours. Four consecutive batches of KGEC-MCA along with Mrinal da were all busy sharing their thoughts and feelings with each other.

Bangalore has a large number of KGEC-ians scattered here and there but the vastness of the number comes into picture when you see them all together. Thanks again to all for their individual contributions to the success of the party. We all should appreciate the participation of those guys who are still striving hard to establish themselves in Bangalore.

Best of Luck, buddies.

Micro Meet in Bangalore - KGEC 2008 Passouts

Motto of College Life:
eat, sleep, play, watch movie and if time permits study.

Motto of Corporate Life: work, work and only work and if get some time then sleep.

Isn't it difficult for the new joinees coming out from college, green in mind, enjoying the colours of life, to adopt to this era of corporate life?

It really is ---- but what to do ???

Everyone gets through it but it was possible to get back to those golden days of our life for few hours as we had on 2nd Nov 2008, when we had the "get together" of the 2008 pass outs from KGEC in Marathalli, Bangalore.

Everyone was really enthusiastic, rejuvenated while recollecting those golden memories and when they narrated those stories everyone really busted out in laughter forgetting all the owes they have in their corporate life.

We all know that in Bangalore there are many people from our college but the vastness of the number comes into picture when you see them all together -- Thanks to all our friends who took time out of their busy schedule to come & meet with each of us and gave us a chance to the taste the flavor of college life even in this mundane corporate life -- probably one of the best days we have ever spent in Bangalore.

Along with that some seniors also came to meet us, Bodu Da (Arindam Dutta, batch of 2006), Gobbor Da (Souvik Mandal Batch of 2005), Tamaghna Da & Chandan Da (Batch of 2005), Arnab Da (Batch of 2006) and Mrinal Da (Batch of 2001).

Hope we will soon have a meeting of similar kind which will allow us to remember those evergreen days of our life.

KGECian Got Young Scientist Award 2008-09 : Proud Moment for KGEC

A very very happy diwali to one and all!

As has been mentioned in the orkut KGEC community, Koushik Sinha, 2001 CST batch, has been awarded the prestigious Young Scientist Award for 2008-09 by the Indian Science Congress for his research in Low Power Communication as well as a number of other factors as taken into account by the Award Committee.

A truly astounding achievement that all KGEC-ians past and present are basking in the glory of. Hope this ushers in more such feats from KGEC-ians in the future.

Really this diwali turned all the more brighter!

Who, What, Why?

Alumni-the very word has a distinct warm feeling about it.

And when it comes to KGEC Alumni, the feeling is even stronger. To strengthen the relationship,
and to create a rendezvous for all the alumni, we have taken a small step to meet in the virtual world.

Ok, so why this blog ? Who is it for ?

Even as late as in 2008, there wasn't any single blog dedicated to KGEC alumni. This is to fill in that need gap. This blog will try to be the place where the alumni in news will be talked about, where the alumni achievements will be discussed to inspire one and all. We will try to learn from the alumni, what works and what doesn't in the life after graduation from an engineeing college. Alumni who blog will also have links in this blog, whereby their valuable insights will be highlighted.

The blog as of now will be run by 4 people:

Alekhya Chakrabarty - Batch of 2007
Subarna Tripathi - Batch of 2005
Ashique KhudaBukhsh - Batch of 2005
Mrinal Kanti Paul - Batch of 2001

Virtual World of KGEC Alumni

Welcome Home!

Remember all those fiery cricket matches between New Hall and RBC? Or for that matter the football matches between RBC and VC that marginally fell short of bloodshed? Does the taste of the chowmein of kaka's shop still linger in your taste buds? Do the benches in the Bangla Department of the university still call you in some lonely moment?
Does the familiar feeling of missing the 5:32,4:27 , 2:17 or 1:21 local still give you jitters? Do the names RBC,New Hall and VC or SNB and MSB feel like home away from home? And does the name Pritilata still mean the ever-guarded mysterious fortress to one gender and home for the other?

And then some day that fateful day arrived in third year. When you had to sit in full formals in front of some 'panel' which changed your life forever. Or may be you were that different variety who chose to think different and early, and chose a different less-trodden path altogether.

Whoever you are, if the 4 lettered word KGEC has a special corner in your heart, and it happens to be your alma mater, Welcome Home!

This is the place to be!
